Can someone please give me an easy cut-out cookie recipe?

I am making cookies with two 4 year-olds tomorrow and need something easy and quick....Thanks in advance! Can someone please give me an easy cut-out cookie recipe?
Make the dough in advance and chill it in 2 flat discs.

When the kids show up, roll out a disc in a mixture of flour and powdered sugar. Don't handle it too much - the heat from your hands will make it loose and the dough will spread out when baked.

These are best glazed with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk and then sprinkled with colored sugar after they cool. The dough can also be used to make Thumbprint cookies. You will need a strong mixer 鈥?a KitchenAid helps, but you can always knead in the rest of the flour. The dough does not spread or distort 鈥?they can be baked fairly close together and can be shipped or transported without breaking.

1 cup (2 sticks) butter (do NOT use oleo or spread)

陆 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

3 cups sifted all purpose flour

陆 tsp baking powder

Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.

Add egg and vanilla extract.

Add flour and baking powder.

Mix until mixture clings together.

Gather into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate one hour.

Roll out between 录 and 1/2 inch thick. Bake 5 to 6 minutes at 375F. Do not let the cookies brown.

Cool on wire rack before glazing or frosting.

Glaze: With a fork, mash together 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon powdered sugar until a fine paste. Add a few drops of milk. Continue adding powdered sugar and milk until desired consistency is achieved. Add 2 drops of almond extract. Yield: about 1 cup.Can someone please give me an easy cut-out cookie recipe?

Cream together sugar and margarine. Add extracts and egg. Mix well. Gradually add dry ingredients being sure to scrape bowl.

Divide dough into two balls. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or at least 3 hours.

Preheat oven to 375.

Working with one ball at a time, divide dough in half. Roll each half 3/16 inch thick on lightly floured board. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until edges are light brown. Frost and decorate as desired.
If you want it really fast, go to your grocery store and buy their version of sugar cookie mix. I bought some Kroger brand mix in an envelope, and my daughter just added an egg, and a stick of butter. It rolled out great, and baked up perfect.
Buy pillsbury already made cookie dough. You can cut round cookies or just roll it and cut with cutters. It cuts the time in half and it easy to do. My daughter loved decorating them.
I think these are the ones I made several Easter's ago...I remember they had Karo syrup in them, which I thought was really odd. But they rolled out amazingly well and were sooooo good!
