Does anyone have any Southern American/Spanish cookie or easy to make desert recipes?

I attended a class given by the English as a Second Language class to help new immigrants learn English, speak in front of a group, and help to get ready for their citizenship.

This little Mexican wife got up and showed us how to make Flan. She had us use what she always used in her home - very simple.

FLAN

1 can evaporated milk

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

nutmeg

Mix together the milks, egg and vanilla. Place in a casserole dish. Sprinkle the nutmeg over the top. Bake in a 375潞 oven for 40-45 minutes or until a knife comes out clean. Cool to room temperature and refrigerate.

She didn't give the flan a water bath - just set it right on the oven shelf to bake it. It was a little sweet for me but worked great as a recipe and it was quick.
