I'm thumbing through my old Secrets of Southern Cooking cookbook. Here's one for Charleston Chews.





1 cup sugar


1 teaspoon baking powder


3/4 cup pastry flour


1/4 teaspoon salt


1 cup choppped walnuts


1 cup chopped dates





Mix %26amp; sift dry ingredients together. Add chopped nuts, dates and beaten eggs. Spread in thin sheets on a greased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 15 mins. Cut in squares. When cool, roll in balls and then roll in confectioner's sugar.I need to find a easy holiday cookie recipe for the kids i babysit. Anyone have any idea or recipes?? ?

buy the packaged cookies at a supermarket and get some sprinkles and icing to let them put on top.I also use cookie cutters with these.It is not only fast but a lot less mess
