thanksssI need an easy cookie recipe?
First...I gotta know...what is ';weird'; about brown sugar...lol?

Anyway...these cookies are very versatile and you can do tons of stuff to make them appealing to everyone you are trying to please. They have a hundred different names...depending on who is making them...but in our family they are called either ';Kisses'; or ';Thumbprint Cookies.';

1/2 lb. butter...has to be real butter, not margarine

3/4 C sugar (white or brown...depending on your preference)

2 egg yolks

2 C flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks. Add flour.

Roll dough into small balls...about an inch in diameter. Place on cookie sheet (I always use parchment paper when making cookies because they don't stick that way.) Press your thumb into center of ball of dough to make an indentation that you can fill with the filling of your choice. Fill, then bake cookies for 10 - 12 minutes in a 350degree oven. Remove from trays and cool on racks.

Suggested fillings:

Any kind of Preserves...jelly will bubble over and make an unholy mess

Chocolate candies such as Kisses, Miniature Peanutbutter cups, Rolos, etc. When using chocolates...do not put the chocolates onto the cookies until you remove them from the over...or they will just melt all over the place. Make your indentations, (I actually use one of the still wrapped candies to make my indentations when using chocolates) anyway...make your indentations, bake your cookies and then put the chocolates on top of each cookie when baking is done...before you even take them off of the tray to cool.

When using preserves, you can dip the dough balls in crushed nuts or granulated sugar before making your thumb print. Make the print in the part of the ball that has been dipped. Then fill and bake. The nuts or sugar add flavor and make for a pretty cookie.

These cookies are great. You can add vanilla or almond flavoring to the dough to make it more interesting. And, if you have little ones who you want to do Christmas baking with...they are sooooo much easier than trying to do cutout sugar cookies...and dealing with all the sprinkles and icing and the nightmare that comes with managing all those toppings and stuff with kids.I need an easy cookie recipe?
