Easy Sugar Cookies

2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 sticks softened butter (or 1 cup margarine)

1 cup sugar

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 egg

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

sugar in a plate (for rolling cookie dough balls in)

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium bowl, add the flour, baking soda, and salt mix until they are well combined.

In a large bowl, add the butter and sugars; cream together until they are light and fluffy. Stop the mixer and scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl.

Add the vanilla and egg and mix until completely incorporated.

Add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Roll the dough into tablespoon sized balls, about an inch and a half across.

Pour some sugar onto a plate and roll the dough balls in the sugar.

Place the cookie dough balls two inches apart on a greased cookie sheet.

Flatten the dough balls with the bottom (dipped in sugar so dough doesn't stick) of a water glass.

The cookies should be about a 1/4 of an inch thick.

Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes. What Are Some Really Easy Delicious Cookie Recipes?
Have you tried a simple butter and egg recipe?

What makes these so gourmet is the spices added to them.

All you need is some allspice, ground cinnamon, ground clove and ground cardamon. Just add a quarter teaspoon of each in each batch of cookies.

Just get out a cook book for cookie recipes and look for a butter cookie recipe and follow the directions but then add the seasonings I mentioned into the flour before adding the sugar, eggs and butter.
